This BONDI crop top provides a secure fit in the waves thanks to the band under the bust, while ensuring freedom of movement when paddling.
The design team has developed this swimsuit top for intermediate surfers in all types of waves.
INTERMEDIATE SURFER
Surfing is your favorite sport and you surf regularly in warm waters. During your sessions, you paddle out to the line-up and either duck dive or turtle roll, depending on whether you are on a shortboard or a longboard. You surf waves bigger than 40″ and you can do tricks. You often wipe out and you are used to being thrown about underwater. You want your swimwear to stay in place with each of your movements and not get in your way when paddling.
BODY SHAPE
We created the BONDI crop top so that young surfers can surf without worrying about losing their swimsuits in the waves. With its crossed back straps and wide elastic under the bust, the swimsuit has been designed to give freedom of movement while paddling.
STAYS IN PLACE IN THE WAVES: THE TEST
We design swimsuits that promise to stay in place in the waves. To test them, we use a panel of female surfers with different body shapes who follow a test protocol in a pool at our design offices in Hendaye, southwest France. This protocol aims to reproduce the sensations experienced by surfers when being thrown around by a wave. If this test is conclusive, we go surfing in the sea to test our swimwear in real conditions.
WHAT ARE PADDED CUPS?
A padded cup is a piece of foam that is inserted into the swimsuit.
So that our customers can decide whether or not they want to keep the padded cups, they are fully removable from the swimsuits.
The wearer is free to add the padded cups or not.
The main idea behind this padding is to protect the modesty of young teenage girls.
The padded cups hide the nipples, which can be seen when the swimsuit is wet.
This is not a pad designed to enhance the body.
GIRLS’ SWIMWEAR SIZES:
At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers by taking into account their growth. It is for this reason that we systematically associate the kid’s height with the size, as age is not sufficient to guarantee the correct size. 2 10-year-old girls can be of totally different heights, weights, and shapes and have different measurements. We also recommend trying the swimsuits on if possible.
OUR GIRLS’ SWIMWEAR SIZES:
Here is the link between age and height on our swimsuit labels:
4/5 years: from 3’5″ to 3’9″
5 years: from 3’9″ to 4’1″
7/8 years: from 4’1″ to 4’4″
8/9 years: from 4’4″ to 4’8″
10/11 years: from 4’8″ to 4’11”
12/13 years: from 4’11” to 5’3″
14/15 years: from 5’3″ to 5’7″
DRY SIZING AND WET SIZING
To ensure a perfect fit in the water, it is important to choose the right size while you are dry because once they are in the water, swimsuits become looser. We therefore recommend you buy the correct size. The swimsuit needs to fit snugly against your body in the fitting room, and you should feel supported. The spandex content in certain components used in the design of our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.
DO YOU WANT TO EXCHANGE YOUR SWIMSUIT?
Is the size or style not suitable for you? Would you like to exchange it at your Decathlon store? No problem, just be sure not to cut off the label of the swimsuit in case you want to exchange it.
OLAIAN, DECATHLON’S SURF BRAND
Based in Hendaye, in southwest France, OLAIAN is Decathlon’s new surfing and bodyboarding brand. In our offices at the water’s edge, we can design a swimsuit and then on the same day test it directly in the sea to make sure it stays in place in the waves.
A score to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire lifecycle with different indicators. An overall score (ABCDE) is attributed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with one another (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.).
Decathlon has voluntarily opted to apply this environmental labeling scheme.
