Can I be sure that my fleece is warm enough for my winter hikes?

The inside of your fleece is brushed – a tried and tested method for retaining heat. The principle is simple: the component weave is structured to add volume to trap air, naturally insulating. It is exactly the same principle as animal fur or feathers. A small extra, this jacket has cuffs at the wrists to reduce the entry of cold air.

What is the fleece component and why is it so warm?

Fleece fabric with synthetic fibers to reproduce the performance of wool: warmth, thermal insulation and lighter. It is soft, comfortable, dries quickly and allows the skin to breathe.

Is a soft and pleasant component fragile?

To ensure the durability of our products, we perform tests on components. We check, for example, that the fleeces do not pill, that colors do not run and that repeated washing does not affect the properties of the fabric.
The resistance of a fabric to abrasion is measured thanks to a test known as a Martindale test. This machine rubs a fabric sample on a reference surface with weight at its end.

Good ventilation for optimal thermal comfort.

Thermal comfort is a balance between the warmth of the garment and its ability to let the body breathe. If damp accumulates, you will feel the cold during less active stages (breaks, downhill). We have designed this fleece with intense use in mind by adding a back opening and stretch side inserts that reach under the arms. Good balance between heat / ventilation for optimal thermal comfort.

How does my fleece protect me from outdoor conditions?

In the winter, you need to be protected both from the damp (snow, rain) and wind, as the latter cools the body down a lot, both when exercising and resting. We have equipped your fleece jacket with waterproof inserts on the shoulders, bottom of the sleeves and hood. You can therefore wear your jacket in damp weather or under light snow showers.

How should I dress when hiking on the snow?

To dress correctly in the winter, no matter what your activity is, we recommend that you apply the 3 layer principle:
layer 1: The technical base layer will enable damp to be wicked away to keep skin dry.
layer 2: The second layer (fleece, pullover) provides warmth and wicks away the damp.
layer 3: The jacket protects you from outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The outfit must be breathable to wick away damp.

How does my product warranty work?

This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date shown on the receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use.

Product Testing

We carry out 2 types of thermal tests: – a fleece fabric test. – a test on a thermal mannequin in a thermal chamber. We reproduce temperatures, wind (3 mph) and damp that you will encounter during the mountains on a 3 mph walk. These tests enable us to confirm our design choices and adapt the thermal insulation where you need it most.
